As in the past, Blizzard never gives out an official “public” release date, because anything that they give during production/testing will be tentative because something major can always come up at the last second that needs to be fixed. However, having been in the video game business for quite some time, they are able to project fairly accurate estimates of when it will be ready for public release. This magic number, as of now, that has been released only to retailers is 10/1/08. Although some of us had hopes for this past holiday season after seeing how far along the game was at BlizzCon and in other trailers, we have not even seen beta so far. However, in the end all our waiting will pay off as Blizzard is sure to deliver a top of the line product with this highly anticipated sequel.
