The first race that is being shown to us by blizzard in StarCraft 2 is the protoss race. The protoss are still the same technologically advanced race and rely on cybernetics in battle and have mastered their psionic abilities. They are the primary rivals of the zerg throughout the starcraft storyline. They are also highly religious and follow the order of Khala. 'Protos' in greek means 'first'. Supposedly the race was named because the protoss were the first successful creations of the Xel'naga. |
